Took Me Long Enough...

to get senior Michelle Lee's Slab Foot Bowl posted.  This remarkable work should have been put up with the other bowls I posted earlier in the year, but I think Michelle took extra time to re-fire hers and then it went to a couple art shows.  So it wasn't till almost the end of school when I finally got a chance to take a photo.  But sometimes you gotta save the best till last.  Right Michelle??  :)  Love you and miss you.
The slab on this piece was highly embossed with texture then laid overtop a wadded up piece of newspaper mold.  The legs were attached, then the piece was turned to stand on it's legs, and the neck and head were built and attached.  Michelle used a combination of oxide rubbings and glaze for high contrast to finish this piece off with.
