SUNRISE, SUNSET

 

Our local San Gabriel Mountain range as seen from our street in Anaheim Hills

We here in the southland have been getting a whole lot of weather this year,

from the Santa Ana Winds blowing thru

(no fires yet)

to the very chilly temps with snow on our local mountains

 and much needed rain.

Same range but taken from another street a day after it snowed

And along with this delightful weather 

we are also getting much clearer and cleaner skies,

 resulting in incredible sunsets.

SUNSET AROUND THE RESERVOIR

When the gym doesn't happen,

there is the rez.

A mile and 3/4 and 3800 steps.

FALL IS FINALLY HERE IN THE SO.CAL.

In water starved California we finally got a wonderful downpour today,

all of 3 minutes.  

But we will take whatever we can get.

Everything got a good bath.

And the sky was amazing to look at as the sun went down from our hill.

Off to the right is Los Angeles in the distance.

The skyscrapers where just out of the viewfinder.

I was standing in line at the doctor's office and all the assistants, nurses and a few of the doctors 

ran to the main lobby to witness and enjoy.

It's just been so very long.

And the few parent s with small children got to show their kids what rain looks like.

It was the best!

I believe they both also had a whiskey in hand.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A HEAD TURN MAKES

Driving home from school this past Thursday nite at 5:30 p.m. getting onto the 91 Fwy.

To the west towards Palos Verdes I see the most amazing sunset,

and then making the curve onto the 91 Fwy. heading east,

SNOW!

WTF!!!!!

On our Santa Ana mountains that we live next to.

I have only ever seen the teeny tiniest bit of snow on this Saddleback Ridge before,

never,

 ever this much and dropping so dang low.

What a site to see!

Went out to take a picture of the sunset amongst the clouds and this is what I came home with.

It Goes By So Fast...

each day as I grow older, 

my days go by faster,

and I don't get half as much done as I wanted too.

This computer seems to be ruling my life a little more each day.

This blog which seems to take at least 1-2 hours each day.

And then I resisted FB for so long,

 but now it seems I need to check it a couple times a day

 or I feel like I've missed so much.

And then there is Pinterest.

So many inspiring things to try,

except no time since I'm always looking on the computer.

I often wonder how you all do it.

Any suggestions?

Just a Little Too Full

The sunset from my studio patio, shot by Daniel Leeb, my son-in-law's brother, a filmmaker who was visiting from Brooklyn.

This month's full moon was my worst ever, a speeding ticket (which I totally deserved LOL), a hum-dinger of a disagreement with my hubby, and my daughter distraught over end of year senior activities.  Just a very bad day with a lot of tears.  It's funny how that moon makes crazy things happen.

But all is looking much better today.  I was turned on to a new fiber artist and she has given me permission to showcase her here.  Her name Is Diane Savona and I've fallen hard for her work.  Coming soon.

Sunset August 3, 2010

This was last night's sunset as I was walking between Jimmy's home and mine. I just happened to be carrying my camera on me so I was able to get these shots. The top one is right outside Jim's home and the bottom one is right next to my front walkway. Incredible! We are so blessed to see this sight right outside our homes, and to live in this gorgeous community.
