CAUGHT MY EYE

I was recently at a Weaving & Spinning Show
when this glorious rug hooked banner caught my attention.
Just had to share this piece of fibery goodness..

Laughter

Saw this great piece of rug hooking on my friend Morna Crites-Moore blogsite, The Wicked Waif.
To see more give her a visit.
She is one of my all time favorite fiber artists, I even own 3 of her amazing works.

This piece was hooked by June Myles of Redding CT.
Love her color choices and asymmetrical design with the text.
It's also very cool how she did the beard/mustache hair.
Wish I could see it in person!

Recycling

Finally, a finished piece of mine that I can share.  A bit of leftover handmade felt and some yarn and wool scraps went into these two pillows.  I used a rug hooking technique on monks cloth,
and backed them in hand dyed velvets.  On the one below that I finished off 2 years ago, I did a bit of embroidery and gave it to Jim, a gift of love, a piece of my heart.  :)
And now the two of them sit side by side, and remind me everyday that it's never too late to fall in love and trust your heart in another's hands.
