CRAZY WONDERFUL!

I bought a ginormous bulb from Home Depot a few years back,
and on the tag it said it was from Africa but I have forgotten it's name.
Anyways,
during the school year it grows these super large green leaves and is quite showy.
Then during the summer it drops them and starts bringing up it's bloom.
It's a big, big bloom!
The tip of the bloom is covered with flowers that begin opening up from the bottom for a few days,
then those close up and the next inch or so opens up until all
the flowers have had their turn.
It's really quite something and really fun to watch the kids passing by try not to run into it.
The other day it gave our Principal a good wack in the stomach.
Oops!
Below are my sweet 7th graders from this year's 1st Quarter group posing next to it.
From left to right are Valerie Nguyen, Shriya Bidani, Andrea Victoria & Aila Jahromi.

Adorable,
right??

  1. What I especially love about this shot is it's only the second week of school and all these kids are so comfortable and safe with each other, even though they came from so many different Elementary Schools. It makes me feel so good about where i teach.
