Oh what fun I'm having playing with this eco-dyeing business. It's such a great recycling activity to do with young ones. One of my students, junior Karisma Dev, thought to try dyeing with mango last school year, and her pieces turned out so well that I wanted to give it a try. I also incorporated some swish chard leaves and stems.
I like to roll over copper pipe when working with cotton because it acts as a mordant to help the dyes lock with the plant based material.
Tie it up with a bit of string, steam it for a couple of hours and tah-dah, gorgeous color and design!
I enjoyed wearing this top all summer long!
