FIRST GRAPES

Potted this Chardonnay grape vine about 4 years ago.
But no grapes year after year.
So I asked my son if he had any thoughts on it.
He asked if I cut back the vines every year.
Yes.
Don't.
Ok.
And it grew grapes!
Nice sweet ones!!
I picked a bunch last week and brought them to my grandson Syd
who thought it was so cool that I'd grown them.
He ate every single one on the bunch.
How about that!!!

  1. It is cool to eat a "personally" grown fruit or vegetable. When I receive a gift from someone's garden, it makes it taste even better. Yay, for finally getting grapes. My husband has always disappointed that his vines never prosper between drought, heat, or birds, he has never managed a single bunch of ripe grapes!

  2. I was so thrilled that I actually grew some, and they are so wonderfully sweet! And I agree about when it's homegrown it's always better. :)
