All my skeins have arrived and have been wound into cakes.
But is there a preference,
I'm wondering,
between the 3 slightly different orders?

Or are none of them just right yet?
Input would be appreciated.

wait, what? winding wool into a cake? I hadn't a clue (so I googled it and watched a video)
ReplyDeleteand me being me ... I'd arrange the wool into warm colors and cool colors and place them on the temperature scale that way ... so conventional ;)
Funny Liz, I started out like that going from cool to warm but as I was caking them I started moving them around until they got all goofed up, so now I don't know... ha ha!
DeleteMost yarns come in the form of skeins and some yarn stores will cake them into a tidy ball for you, and some stores charge $5 to do it for you. I like to do it myself. You will need an umbella swift and ball winder if you are interested. Knit Picks Catelog carries them at a reasonable price. And then I knit with the center pull piece. It keeps the yarn from tangling up as you go.
