Just found this picture of senior Kaili Hamada
using the propane torch to add a patina to her copper book cover.
It was supposed to be included in the post I did last week on Metal Aged Books.
Believe it or not,
I do give a safety unit before allowing these children to use this equipment.
Kaili was supposed to have put her hair back in a ponytail before she turned on the torch.

So easy to get caught up in a creative moment ...
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of watching someone reach over a candle while wearing a fuzzy sweater ... the flames flew over her in a split second and then they (and the fuzz) were gone. No harm done, but I remember it like yesterday even tho it happened almost 20 years ago.
