I refresh mine and started it years ago with Pre-reduced Indigo powder from Dharma Trading. Along with a bit of Soda Ash and something else that starts with a Thy I think. It's all explained on their site. And so easy to do. Let me know if you give it a try.
I envy you your indigo vat (yes, I know I could have one of my own, but something holds me back) ... and there were surely many many stitches in the making of your flag ... making such beautiful marks
