Junior Eryn Burnett was assigned a project in her science class
to show how science and art work together.
She came to me for a few ideas and the one she really liked was Japanese Shibori
She demonstrated the process in front of her class from beginning to end.
She borrowed my Indigo vat to work with...
and the kids were delighted with the oxidation process of this natural dye.
Way to go Eryn!!
There's a place in Austin called Art.Science.Gallery ... and yes indeed, art and science are a great pairing. I'm sure Eryn's indigo demo opened some eyes to that!
