LET'S MOVE IT!

INTERACTIVE SCULPTURE
CERAMICS I
clay, glaze, oxides & embellishments

This was an extremely challenging assignment for my Beginners.
They were required to build a sculpture that had interactive parts that worked .
Then to assemble it after it came out of the glaze firing.
There was one student out of 33 that nailed it.
So let me share.

Junior Cathy Huang totally got the assignment.
She created this sweet warrior.
Look closely and you will see all his removeable parts she has designed.
The sword & shield can be taken off and on.
The arms swing back and forth.
And the axe can also be removed.
Also notice the detail she brings to each piece,
trying to make them as realistic as possible.
And if you go back to the two top photos,
you can see how she embellished the warrior with his special neckwear and belt.
Bravo Cath for totally getting what I wanted,
and for putting the energy  and effort into making it come alive!

  2. Love the detail on the axe. And the foresight required to articulate this figure is impressive.
