BEGINNING 3-D ART
After the bundles were opened, washed and heat set,
the construction began.
Each child was asked to pick two pieces from their bundle
that they didn't feel flowed visually with their other pieces.
We placed them on a large table
and each student picked two new pieces they thought might compliment their bundles.
Below we see senior Clarissa taking change
and making sure it was handled in a very fair way
and that everyone was happy.
This is such a nice group of children.
They range in age from 8th thru 12th grades.
And the older ones are so good with the younger ones.
Notice the patience these kids are exhibiting.
I love my job!!
Ms. Park was one of the first to get going on not only building her banner,
but also of organizing her pieces so she could transport them from school to home.
Deliana shared with us that she wakes up at 4:00 a.m. to work on her art pieces
so she gets a couple of quiet hours in
before her two small children need to be gotten up and off to school.
Here we see the kids layering their pieces and invisible basting them to each other
(a Jude Hill technique I learned from taking many online classes with her)
And here is Deliana starting her embellishment and embroidery.
Senior Jenna Llamas is also doing another Jude Hill technique,
We will see how Jenna incorporates this piece into her banner in Part IV.
